Repair & Repeat - Mending Workshop

Not sure how to sew that button back on or the small hole in the side of your favorite shirt? Join us as we go over some easy hand-mending techniques that will help you save your clothes from the thrift bin! We'll go over basic hand-sewing skills and stitches, discuss their purposes, and explore where we can use them to upcycle our clothes.

You'll learn about the different kinds of damage that can be mended by hand and the various methods to do so, including, but not limited to, darning holes, reinforcing thinning fabric, and fixing seams. You'll leave here having practiced a few basic stitches on the provided scrap fabric and seen finished mending projects, so you'll have an idea of what you can do with these new skills! Most importantly, we will go over materials and the kinds of household items you can use to help you best achieve your projects.
