WHAT MAKES YOUR BUSINESS ZERO WASTE?
From the production phase through the check-out process, we maintain a strong awareness of our environmental footprint. We start by purchasing from suppliers who emphasize sustainable practices and fair labor conditions. Although not every supplier completely aligns with our sustainability ethos, we continuously seek alternative options and engage with our existing partners to improve their practices.
As a brand advocating for consumer reuse through refills, we also produce all our in-house products using a closed-loop approach. This means refilling, reusing, or repurposing both mixing materials and containers, like our 30 and 55 gallon drums. Our primary focus is on reuse rather than resource intensive recycling. We also prioritize sustainably sourced, biodegradable ingredients and organic wherever possible.
Our liquid refill products are mailed in BPA-free, plastic pouches. Not only are they 93% less plastic than a plastic bottle but you will also receive an envelope that includes pre-paid postage so you can mail us your empty pouches back for us reuse or recycle through TerraCycle.
Our dry refill products are mailed in recyclable paper bags made from 100% recycled paper.

HOW DO YOU SHIP WITH NO WASTE?
We only use up-cycled, recycled, recyclable and compostable materials. Everything ships 100% plastic-free. From time to time you may receive up-cycled, compostable, water-soluble packing peanuts that look like styrofoam. These are made of plant starch and can easily be dissolved by water and rinsed down the drain.

We also choose to ship the majority of our packages through USPS since they already come to your residence on a daily basis. This cuts down gas and extra trips from other shipping carriers.
WHY DON'T YOU OFFER FREE SHIPPING?
Amazon has set a high bar with free shipping, turning what used to be a perk into a standard expectation. But for small businesses, shipping is never truly free; in fact, it’s often far more costly for us than for mega-retailers. For orders under $75, you’ll see the actual shipping cost at checkout. Here’s why we made this choice:
• We want to encourage single, larger orders rather than multiple smaller ones over a short period. Fewer shipments reduce overall costs and help cut down carbon emissions.
• Although we’re grateful for support from all over the U.S., our primary focus is on serving our local community. We aim to keep prices low for nearby customers, making sustainable, low-waste living more accessible. There’s a good chance you can find a similar shop close to you, saving on both shipping costs and miles traveled.
• We ship Priority 2-3 day to get your order to you as quickly as possible. This rarely costs under $8, and for customers further away—like in California—it can sometimes exceed $20.
• To keep our processes as waste-free as possible, we spend time repurposing materials we receive from our makers and vendors. This involves breaking down boxes, organizing recyclables and compost, and upcycling paper to use as packaging.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?
2-7 Business days but typically it takes no more than 3-5. If your order doesn't arrive within that time frame, please reach out to us at hello@shopthegoodfill.com and we will help you find or replace your package.
WHY DO SOME OF YOUR PRODUCTS HAVE PACKAGING?
Even though we pride ourselves on working with companies that are low-waste we cannot control some of the packaging that comes with our orders. There are many things we do to cut down waste which also include taking care of recycling, composting or up-cycling any materials we receive that are not necessary to send alongside your order. We are happy to say that we are a 99% zero waste shop.
If you look closely throughout our product descriptions, you will also see advice written from us personally on how to properly recycle or compost a product once it has reached the end of its life.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Sorry, we only ship in the U.S. at this time. In order to cut down on gas and extra trips from other shipping carriers, we mostly ship USPS since they come to your residence on a daily basis.
