Job: Sales Associate
Reports to: Owner
Job Summary: The Sales Associate position is responsible for providing an outstanding Customer Experience to customers looking to reduce waste while performing other operational tasks that serve customers through product knowledge, low-waste living, merchandising, register functions, store cleanliness, and other related duties. The Sales Associate performs operational duties to help run the retail store that includes; opening/closing, ensuring store security, overseeing safety, and assisting with escalated customer issues. The Sales Associate represents The Good Fill brand to our customers and must be courteous, encouraging, communicative, efficient, and able to sell to customers so that their needs and expectations are met or exceeded. This position supports environmental stewardship and access to sustainability that The Good Fill strives to represent.
Job Responsibilities/Expectations?
• Provide excellent, friendly, and informative customer service.
• Engage with customers and share product knowledge as well as sustainable living and zero waste practices from personal experience.
• Process payments and manage cash register opening and closing, including balancing cash registers at the end of each shift or as scheduled, and adhering to the bank deposit process.
• Use product information, sampling, and available resources to educate customers and assist them in making product selections that are right for them.
• Promptly serve customers, minimizing wait time.
• Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers and co-workers that fosters a positive work environment and embraces diversity.
• Participate in workshops, meetings, and educational opportunities that improve customer experience and brand trust.
• Protect and maintain company assets and resources, including cash control, inventory, fixtures, and physical facility to prevent theft, ensuring loss prevention standards. Maintain the confidentiality and security of sales records and operational reports.
• Oversee and perform regular maintenance; clean shelves, surfaces, backrooms, windows, front store areas, bathrooms, and floors according to company policy as directed by management.
• Aid management in the implementation of merchandising, promotional and operational standards.
• Implement the company’s quality control standards for bulk and liquid products.
• Execute all company policies and objectives within the store, ensuring that The Good Fill is well represented.
• Fully understand register functions including returns/exchange processes.
• Aid management in ensuring The Good Fill’s rewards program is consistently promoted.
• Adhere to the personal appearance policy.
• Adhere to the assigned work schedule.
• Flexibility to work at the East or West location in an event where scheduling needs change.
• Able to exert up to 45 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently
