NELLIE'S

Dish Detergent Powder & Refills

  • clean and natural ingredients - the good fill

Why We Love It: Nellie’s Dish Powder easily penetrates grease, food particles, and more, leaving every plate spotless. Plus, this biodegradable, septic-safe, and phosphate-free formula is plant-based and kind to the environment. Traditional liquid detergents are made of at least 50 percent water. Nellie's does not think selling you water and moving water around the planet is a very good idea. More cleaning power can be packed into a smaller space with a powder formula and this one packs a punch - you only need 1 tbsp per load in your dishwasher.

Add 1 tbsp detergent into the designated space in your dishwasher. If machine has no detergent dispenser, place 1 tbsp in bottom of dishwasher. More powder may be required in hard water areas; soft water may require less.

Rinse heavy food residue from cutlery and dishes. Do not overload the dishwasher. Do not overuse dishwashing detergent. If a film remains following the cycle, place a cup of distilled white vinegar (with 5% or less acidity) in a bowl on the bottom rack of the dishwasher during the rinse cycle.

Leaves film

I want to love it because I’ve been on the hunt for a safe and less waste dish washer detergent, but it’s been leaving a very noticeable film on everything. I end up rinsing by hand after the washer runs.

Works well

I like the fact that you don’t have to use a whole lot of powder per load. And as long as you rinse your dishes before loading them, you shouldn’t have an issue with stuck on food. Way better than plastic dishwasher pods stuck in my dishwasher!

I like this dish detergent! I’ve had to run a load twice a couple of times but as long as you rinse your dishes well before loading them up, it cleans very nicely and I don’t have to worry about plastic from fish pods getting stuck in my washer anymore!

Not very efficient

It’s left residue and occasionally food if we run the dishwasher on normal. We have to run it on a heavy load setting to get everything totally clean, but the extra energy and water waste zero out the no-waste dish detergent. Our dishwasher is HE and only a few years old.

Dishwasher powder no residue on dishes

We use this in our dishwashing machine and appreciate no residue left on glasses or plates.
