Container Care

WHY CONTAINER CARE MATTERS

Refills are only as good as the containers they go into. Leftover residue, moisture, or old product buildup in reused bottles can lead to spoilage, microbial growth, contamination, or ineffective products.

By following proper cleaning and drying steps, you can keep your refills fresh, safe, and ensure they work as intended.

To help you refill safely and get the most out of your products, we’ve put together a simple guide for cleaning and caring for your containers. After a good clean and dry, you’re set to refill with the same product for up to a year—or two years for liquid soaps—before we recommend a reset.

Unsure of what you should refill? We recommend glass, #2 and #5 plastics for refilling since they’re easiest to clean and can handle repeated use.

Keep it clean

1. Start by removing all product residue.

2. Next, wash with hot soapy water or run through the dishwasher.

3. Let completely dry before refilling. If residue is stubborn, we suggest starting with a fresh container.

Deep clean your containers at least once per year to keep product fresh and effective.

How to Clean Tops & Pumps

  1. Unscrew and disassemble the pump if possible.
  2. Pump soapy water through to clean the inside.
  3. Rinse well and pump clean water through.
  4. Optional: Rinse with 60% alcohol for extra sanitizing.
  5. Let air dry completely before refilling.
