Nellie's Laundry Detergent Powder is a highly concentrated formula (just 1 tbsp per load) that dissolves quickly in cold or hot water and is septic safe. Most importantly, it rinses completely clear, leaving your skin and the environment as spotless as your clothes.

Use & Care

Add one tablespoon of Nellie's Laundry Detergent Powder for each regular-sized load, either into the detergent dispenser or directly in the drum. Wash according to instructions on garments. Always test on garments that may bleed or fade. May be used in HE and standard washing machines.

Sodium Carbonate, Linear Alcohol Ethoxylate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Metasilicate.

End of Life

Refills come in a compostable/recyclable paper bag with paper tape and a paper label. *Please note that this bag is meant solely for transport purposes and is not meant to hold product for an extended period of time.


Refillable glass jar may be recycled with glass recycling. Metal lid should be recycled with aluminum recycling.


Jars in shipped orders come wrapped in 100% recycled newsprint paper made entirely from post-consumer and/or post-industrial content. Paper can be recycled or composted (at home or industrially).

Great laundry detergent

This was our first swap from a plastic tub to a glass/refillable container. It definitely hooked us on the Good Fill in general, and we continue to love and use it 2+ years later. We really only need 1 tbsp or so per load.

great product

I love this laundry detergent. It works so well on all different types of laundry and dirt. It also has no scent, which is very important to me. Of course, the fact that it does all of that and with no plastic is a winning mix for me and my family.

A good overall laundry detergent

I’ve been using this for a year now and find it works very well, and I love not having jugs of detergent to deal with. If I could, I’d give it 4.5 stars as I do cloth diapering and had to switch detergent for those loads only because it lacked some of the necessary enzymes to get them as clean as they needed. But it works great on normally soiled general laundry and. I use it exclusively for that!

A great swap!

A little goes a long way and it lasts for awhile. It’s much more affordable and it’s a great sustainable swap. I had never used a powder detergent prior to this so I was skeptical but wow does it work well. I can’t imagine using anything else.

Perfect for the whole family

I first came across Nellie's/The Good Fill whenever I had my first child and needed something safe for cloth diapers. Since then, it's been the perfect laundry detergent for everything in the house. I love how a little goes a long way too!
