Why We Love It: We know how much you love coffee and the environment. Ebb created something special- a reusable coffee filter that brews delicious quality coffee using organic cotton sourced straight from US farms. Every ebb filter is crafted by farmers, millers, weavers, cutters, and sewers who are part of a community that cares about healthy lands and happy people. Now you can savor the sweet flavors only cloth can produce. One filter is good for 100 uses.

Use: Boil your new filter for 5 minutes. One time does the trick. Grind, preinfuse & pour. Brew your way or dial it in. Compost grounds, rinse well with warm water and either let dry or for high quality brews, we recommend storing your filter in water and keeping it refrigerated between uses. After you clean it, place your wet filter in a small jar or other watertight container with water and keep in fridge between brews.

Here are some tips for keeping your Ebb reusable filter fresh and clean:

  1. Rinse your filter within 30 minutes after brewing to prevent unwanted growth.

  2. If storing in water to prevent your filter from becoming water logged, remember to change the water in your storage container with every brew, and to wash the container with soap once every week or so.

  3. If you won’t be using your filter for longer than a few weeks, take it out of water storage and hang dry or freeze it until you want to use it again.

Materials: Made from US grown organic cotton.

Packaging: Packaged in recycled, recyclable, and compostable paperboard packaging. One reusable filter per pack.

End of Life: Filter is compostable in backyard compost.

Frequently Asked Questions about Ebb Filters:

Q: How long does a reusable Ebb filter last?

A: Ebb filters last about 100 uses. That's about 3-4 months for daily drinkers and almost a year for weekend coffee drinkers.

Q: Is it easy to clean?

A: Yes! At the end of each use, pull filter from dripper once it's cool enough to tough safely. Shake grounds into compost or save and rinse filter well. No soap needed! To brighten a filter, you can soak the filter in a solution made of 1 part white vinegar and two parts water.

Q: How should I store my Ebb filter?

A: Your filter can be air dried! However, for consistent high quality brews, we recommend storing your filter in fresh water in the refrigerator between uses! Storing your Ebb in water helps keep the oils from coffee grounds from soaking into the fabric, and imparting dull flavors over time.

Q: How do these filters compare to paper filters?

A: They operate just like paper filters, just without the waste and the taste some paper filters can leave behind! Like all things re-usable, Ebb filters change overtime, pouring more quickly when new, hitting a sweet sweet spot at middle-age, and begin to pour more slowly towards the end of their lifecycle. Once brew time becomes too lengthy, it's time to compost the old filter and replace with a new one!
